Youth Soccer Player Development League | Spring 2026

Season Timeline & Game Format

The season kicks off the first weekend of March 2026 and runs through mid-March, depending on player enrollment. Matches may begin as early as 10:00 AM on Saturdays or Sundays, based on field availability. Games will be played in a 4v4 plus goalkeeper or 6v6 plus goalkeeper format to maximize player development and match involvement.

 

League Eligibility & Details

  • Open to boys and girls ages 4–14

  • 8-week season including practices and games

  • Available to Thurston County Soccer Academy registered players

  • Outside teams and clubs welcome

  • Games will be played on Saturday's or Sundays, based on field availability

  • Field locations in Thurston County, Lacey and Tumwater

  • Jerseys, shorts, and fan gear not included with registration

Teams, Formats & Age Groups

  • Team colors (jerseys) and team names will be determined by Thurston County SAY coaches

League Formats by Age Group

  • Under 8 (Ages 6–7)

    • Game format: 5v5 (4 field players + goalkeeper)

    • Team size: 6–9 players

  • Under 10 (Ages 8–9)

    • Game format: 7v7 (6 field players + goalkeeper)

    • Team size: 8–12 players

  • Under 12–Under 14 (Ages 10–13)

    • Game format: 9v9 (8 field players + goalkeeper)

    • Team size: 8–12 players

Code of Conduct

Parents and coaches are expected to follow all league and team rules at all times. Disrespect toward referees will not be tolerated from anyone, including parents, fans, or coaches. Any match will be immediately forfeited if inappropriate behavior, dissent, or disrespect toward referees occurs.
